[Goddammit... It was bad enough that Kanji was living with the weirdo... okay, so, Goku wasn't that bad as a roommate. He was polite and helpful. He didn't judge Kanji on his hobbies. He was actually kinda supportive, in a weird sort of fashion.

It didn't even bother him too much that the other man liked to walk through the apartment half-dressed.... Okay, that first time totally didn't count! Who does that?

But, the towel on the floor of the bathroom, still damp from the power shower he'd taken? NOT cool.]

[Video, Later the same day]

[You can see the blond standing in a clothing shop. He's standing in front of a rack of clothes with a pensive look on his face. It's obvious the journal is open and facing out to film him for a purpose. Kanji adjusts the rack before moving to the side to let anyone curious and paying attention to see a display of knitted stuffed toys.]

Yeah, that's perfect.

[He turns to face the journal and tries to smile, but it's obvious he's nervous.]

So, um, name's Kanji Tatsumi for those who don't know me. I just...Look, here's the deal. My family runs a textile shop back home. Since I got here, I've been feelin' homesick. And, uh, I've been doin' stuff that I would back there. Thanks to Rhyme, I got a place to sell them from. So, if you need somethin' repaired or you're looking for a cute plush toy, I'm your guy.

I'll be here on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and all day Sunday.

[Trunks walks over to Kanji with toolbox in hand and looks ready to work.]

Nice to meet you in person, Kanji. So where's the sewing machine you want fixed? I'll take a look at it right away.

[Though he also has a secondary bag over his shoulder which he hands to Kanji.]

This has the stuff I was hoping you could fix in it too. It's just three shirts and pants, not too much. I kind of train a lot which causes my clothes to rip a lot. So thanks again for doing this.

Uh, it's in the back room. [He takes the second bag and starts to head that way. He's looking at the clothes as he does so, moving with confidence around the clothes racks and display cases without having to really see them.]

I found this here when I got here. I looked it over a few times to make sure that I didn't skip somethin', but I ain't an engineer.

[It's an older model machine, probably from the 1960s, but he has no clue how to fix it.]

[Trunks looks it over and examines the exterior before he turns to look back at Kanji.]

I can try to fix it, but you wouldn't happen to know how to open this would you? I've never seen this model of sewing machine before. So I'm trying to find where you open it to look at the interior.

[He looks up from the bag and blinks before flipping the cover on the back and exposing the motor.]

It's old. But still a good model.

[Oh there it is. Trunks blushes before looking at the motor, examining it thoroughly.]

Oh this is easy. I can fix it.

[And then he starts diligently working on it.]

[Kanji's not gonna point out that faux pas, Trunks. Your secret's safe with him, man.]

Yeah, the holes in these clothes aren't gonna be hard either, but these don't look like any kind of rips and stuff I've seen from trainin'.

[When Kanji's talking to Trunks, he kind of half listens and just blurts out the first thing on his mind.]

Well they get ripped a lot when I transform into a--

[...Wait a second. Whoops, he almost let it slip out.]

--A totally awesome fighter! Y-Yeah, that's it. That's totally what I meant.

[That was suspicious and Kanji looks up from the needle he's threading with an expression of disbelief on his face.]

Look, man, I can summon a thing that's like a lightning god and used to be the part of me I hid from the rest of the world. Whatever it is you transform into can't be worse than what I saw about myself, okay.

[Because, you know, Trunks, no one wants to see that part of Kanji again, okay. Traumatizing to be sure. Just ask Yosuke.]

[Trunks hesitates for a moment and waits for Kanji's reply. He really doesn't want to frighten him.]

[Kanji puts down the clothes and he looks hard at Trunks.]

You gonna transform into a big gay version of yourself?

[...Excuse Trunks as he's just blurting out what he's thinking right now.]

What?! No! That's not what a Super Saiyan is at all!

[He doesn't watch TV or read comics, so the references are lost on him, Trunks. Even for his world.]

[He sighs then transforms for Kanji to see.]

This is a Super Saiyan.

[And suddenly Trunks is a glowy blond. Without the peroxide or bleach. Damn, that would be kinda awesome to have access to.]

So, do you do anything besides glow and go blond?

[Don't forget that his hair is super spiky now too!]

[Yeah, he noticed.]

Of course I don't want you to hit me. I want you to fix my sewing machine.

[He powers down to his normal form again then gets back to working on the sewing machine.]

Well the repairs are pretty much done. Just let me make a few adjustments.

[He adjusts a few things with the inner workings and squirts some oil to make sure nothing is rusted. Then ta da, it's finished!]

All right, now the repairs are officially done. Try it out.

[When Trunks moves away from the sewing machine, Kanji takes a few moments to thread it properly before he puts one of the shirts from Trunks's bag up and quickly repairs the hole. It only takes a few adjustments from the dials on the side to make sure it's done correctly before he holds it up for his "client".]

Try it on in the changing area in the back. I need to see how it fits now that it's repaired.

[Trunks tries on his shirt and peers out from the doorway to the changing area.]

It fits great, thank Kanji! You're a real expert at this.

Good, glad to hear it, man.

[He looks at the rest of the clothes in the bag and shakes his head.]

Come back in an hour and I can have the rest of this done. Nothing looks too bad, but I have to find some patches for some of the bigger rips.

[He changes back into his other clothes then comes out of the changing room.]

Sure. I'll see you in an hour then.

[And he turns to head out the door.]
