[Goddammit... It was bad enough that Kanji was living with the weirdo... okay, so, Goku wasn't that bad as a roommate. He was polite and helpful. He didn't judge Kanji on his hobbies. He was actually kinda supportive, in a weird sort of fashion.

It didn't even bother him too much that the other man liked to walk through the apartment half-dressed.... Okay, that first time totally didn't count! Who does that?

But, the towel on the floor of the bathroom, still damp from the power shower he'd taken? NOT cool.]

[You can see the blond standing in a clothing shop. He's standing in front of a rack of clothes with a pensive look on his face. It's obvious the journal is open and facing out to film him for a purpose. Kanji adjusts the rack before moving to the side to let anyone curious and paying attention to see a display of knitted stuffed toys.]

Yeah, that's perfect.

[He turns to face the journal and tries to smile, but it's obvious he's nervous.]

So, um, name's Kanji Tatsumi for those who don't know me. I just...Look, here's the deal. My family runs a textile shop back home. Since I got here, I've been feelin' homesick. And, uh, I've been doin' stuff that I would back there. Thanks to Rhyme, I got a place to sell them from. So, if you need somethin' repaired or you're looking for a cute plush toy, I'm your guy.

I'll be here on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and all day Sunday.

That's fine with me. I got school most mornings, so I need to have some time not here. And, uh, if you need me and I ain't here, I'll be at my apartment. With that Goku guy.

Goku? As in a guy about 5'9" who's super into martial arts with big spiky black hair?

Yeah, that'd be him. Guy runs around in that orange gi thing and leaves wet towels on the floor.

He's an old friend of the family. He's been friends with my parents since before I was born!

[And though she cares about Goku, she is so very glad that he's not living in their little house. There's far less likelihood of holes in the walls if her father and Goku aren't living in a small enclosed space with one another.]

How did you guys meet, anyway?

Oh, so you know him? Is he normally so...happy-go-lucky?

Er, we kinda ended up in the same apartment on the same floor one day...

Yup, he's almost always like that, except when he gets really serious about something. ...and if it's something that can actually make him get serious, it's majorly dangerous.

[Kanji nods, thinking, oddly enough, about Teddie. That damn bear was just like that.]

He's not a bad guy. Just kinda easily distracted. He told me he's got a wife and two kids back home though.

[He seriously hopes his sons aren't like Goku though. The world wouldn't last long if that was the case.]

That's right, he does. Chichi is his wife, and his sons are named Gohan and Goten. Goten looked a lot like Goku when he was younger.

That's cool. Do his kids... do they act like him or like their mom?

[Because, you know, he's gotta know now.]

Um...well, we're from different timelines, so I can really only tell you what they're like when they're all grown up. Gohan's both studious and a really good martial artist. I don't think I've ever seen him as hyper as Goku, though. Goten is very outgoing and he's my brother's best friend.

Brother? Who's that?

My brother? His name is Trunks. If you've seen a guy around here with lilac purple hair and blue eyes who's about 5'7" or so in height, that was probably him.

[Luceti's a small enough community that she figures Kanji may have at least walks past him in town at some point. She can't think of anyone else who fits that description.]

[Dudes with purple hair? Was he into Visual Kei or something?]

Can't say that I have, but I ain't really been lookin' either. There's a lot of strange people runnin' around here with stuff I ain't really seen before. Like the guy and the girl with the weird white eyes. That shit's freaky as hell.

[Tact? What's that? Kanji don't know no tact, okay?]

I think it's kind of pretty looking, actually. But it's not really that surprising that you're going to find strange people here, is it? I mean, we're from all different worlds, so it's only natural we'd be strange to one another.

[Which prompts her to ask.]

Do people have powers in your world?

Y-yeah, I guess that's true.

[Her question has Kanji blinking.]

Uh, kinda? It's complicated.

I was just asking because some people come from worlds that don't have any, and others come from worlds where it's common.

Yeah, well, up till a year ago, I woulda said that magic is just parlour tricks for kids and special effects.

Oh, so some people use magic in your world, then? That's cool.

Yeah, it ain't normal. It's kinda cool though. It's kinda like bein' a super hero, but nobody knows what we do.

So, what do you do, then?

Um, we saved people who'd been kidnapped and thrown into a dangerous world. And we caught a murderer and attempted murderer.

But, seriously, who's gonna believe that we went into a world inside the TVs to do all this and then fought a Death Goddess to keep the world from turnin' into a bunch of monsters?

...huh. Going inside TVs is new.

[And that's the only part that actually sounds really strange to her.]

Goku, his family, my family and some friends of ours have all helped to save the world before...but the world thinks it was mostly Mr. Satan that did it.

I don't even know how we got Adachi's confession to stick. I mean, it's not like anyone really believes we chased him into the TV world and handed his ass to him. Even if that's what really happened.

We're lucky that we even got Yu-senpai's cop uncle to half believe us after it was all over.

Well, take out the jumping into TV world part, and it's believable enough that you guys tracked down a murderer. People probably pieced things together to match up to whatever they thought was more realistic.
